Mark Greene start Djaying in 1992 when he got infected from the Chicago and Detroit house sounds that start hitting the underground Dublin Clubs. Mark had many influences but the Strictly Rhythm label pretty much sums up the sounds he was chasing back then. Towards the end of 90s Mark put his music on the back burner mainly due to other commitments and with a belief that house music had seeing it’s best days.
Late in 2008 Mark accidently stumbled across a set of CDjs which he’d never used before, he bought some old tracks had a spin and got hooked all over again. After this long break away from clubbing and djaying Mark was put onto the Vinyl Sound Systems at the end of 2010 and since then he has played at many different venues and for many different promotors, but mainly for Vinyl Sound Systems. It’s hard to pin Mark down to one style these days but more recently he has diverted back to vinyl and is collecting and playing mostly deep house.
Mark’s main influences are Todd Terry, MK, Masters at Work, Cajmere, Sneak, DJ Pierre, Leftfield, Jimpster, Slam, Osunlade, Kerri Chandler. On Mark’s weekly show expect to hear the likes of Session Victim, Jay Shepard, Audiojack, Vincenzo, Maceo Plex, Soul Clap and many more.
You can catch Mark every Tuesday from 10 to 11 for his show on Dublins 93.2fm or www.playdublin.net
